Last week I took a much needed and very welcome little trip to Devon. My parents rented a cottage in a village called Combe Martin in Northern Devon and invited my brother, sister, and I and various friends/ boyfriends. It was even more relaxing than I expected - the sun shone everyday and we were a 2 minute walk to the beach and sea.
My room in the cottage was a tiny little box room, but the best thing was that it opened straight onto a sunny terrace where I could take my book and coffee to read in the sun before the day started.
On a few of the days my Dad and I went on some killer runs together along the cliffs. The scenery most certainly beats running along the River Thames, as much as I love London.
We came across a pretty little cove called Pear Tree Bay which we had to scramble down to get to. We later discovered that it was a nudist beach (we stayed very much clothed!) but it was still a lovely place to read our books and skim stones.
We went on a walk on beautiful Exmoor, and also went surfing last week! The waves were quite small but we all managed to stand up so that was fun. It was lovely to have some down time too - lie ins in the morning, wine in the evenings, and I started on my blog redesign and some sewing (yes... I took my sewing machine on holiday with me!)
I hope you all had a fab Easter weekend! My family missed out on having our annual Bun Fight on Good Friday so we had a party and BBQ on Easter Monday instead which was equally lovely.
I'm currently enjoying my last creme egg, sob x
